The unit operated as the 914th TAG with the C-119 assigned until December 1970, when its 328th TAS converted to the C-130A. The 914th was assigned to the 403rd TAW from April 1971 until January 1976, when it transferred to the 439th TAW. The unit had converted to the C-130E by mid-1976. The 914th deployed to Sharjah, UAE for Desert Storm and was assigned to the 1650th TAW (Provisional). The 914th was redesignated an Airlift Wing in October 1994.
